I just picked up a 1966 head (thanks Bkrdave!). I am starting to re-read everything I can to get set for my first D.I.Y. porting job. It is a C6DE-6090-B and it seems that in 1966 the 170 and 200 heads had the same numbers and valves but the 170 had a smaller intake manifold volume (890 for the 170 and 1100 for the 200). Is there a way to make sure i have the 1100 cc intake? Bkrdave said it came off a 200 and the codes certainly match up to the '66 ranchero he got it off of, and the intake log looks the same as my other 200. . . but who knows what got swapped out in the past? I'd like to make sure before I start putting time into porting and machining this thing.

The 200 head number C6 DE 6090 B
came off the 200 block # C6 DE 6015-B

PTL, there's no 170 vs 200 difference listed in my books for the '66 Falcons. They CC the same, the valves are the same; there is just one head....

Me too, I'm with Addo. I've got a 170 Falcon engine from a mate, and the heads are the same. In fact, the 144 lookes the same as the 170 and 200.
