Ok, here is what I've been up to. I decided today that replacing my heater core every winter is getting quite old. For some reason unknown to me my heater core leaked about 1/2 my antifreze on to the floor of my car. Since the core is from Checker, it has a lifetime warranty so I put the new core in this afternoon.
After topping off the radiator, I fired up the ole 200, adjusted the idle on the webber 38 DGAS and let her warm up. I don't know why, but I can't keep the motor running when it is below 60*. Once warmed up, I pulled Frankenstang out for it's first wash and wax since last October.
I have about 20 items on my Mustang to-do list, most requiring me to buy parts.
Mike,
The more I see your aluminum head the more I want one. One or two more trips to the Middle East and I should be able to buy the whole set up. By then I'm sure you'll have some really sweet fuel injection kits.
Here is the latest on my career in the Air Force. The powers that be decided there were too many TSgts (E6) in the vehicle maintenance career field. They gave 100 of us the choice of getting out with no benifits or severance pay or re-train. I chose the latter of the two. I start my new job as a contract administrator on the 21st of April. As for the tripple disk fusion in my neck. I feel pretty good about it. I have my 1 year post surgery check up in May. How that appointment goes will determine whether I am deployable (which I hope I am) or not. If I am no longer able to deploy I see medical retirement in my near future. I'd really like to hit 20+ years, but 15 to 17 years and a very promising career in contract administration isn't too bad.
I'm glad to see some familiar names still here and I welcome all the new folks that have come along. I'm still I6 all the way. No V-8 for my Fankenstang.
I'll try to do a better job of staying active in this forum since it is the best most informative I6 forum out there.
