havent been on in a while cause for a while things have been going very well with my car until now. Car starts ok as long as its not too cold but just figured out that my car is starting bad is cause of the distributor ( placed a lamp that generates lots of heat right on the distributor and in a few min it started right up). But this isnt what is the problem. For the past month or so my has been doing ok but when I had to get a new voltage regulator which was for my car, my voltmeter said it was putting out at about 15.5 volts constantly but it never overcharged like to 16+ ever. I had to get a new alternator cause the positive terminal on the alternator broke due to melting wire and stress on the bolt end. put in the new alternator but after examining what happened yesterday and the day before that nothing has changed.
Yesterday really notice my car undercharging, charging, and not charging at all in a few seconds my voltmeter was going all over the place and it was working right cause I saw my lights dimming aand brighting up. I looked at the connections nothing wrong there or loose. the belt makes noise but not loose even when rev it to like 2000 rpm I dont get a charge. I dont know what is going on. Battery is less than 2 years old, both alternator and regulator are new, connections are good and this has never happened to me before. how can I run tests?? what should I do? what are the guesses on what is going wrong?
