hoisting points 200 I6

I am getting ready soon to swap out my existing 200 6 cyl and trans.to a better 200 6 cyl and trans.
What do I do to pull the engine and trans together at same time? Do I heed to remove the trans crossmember? Where do you connect the chain to the engine to pull the motor and trans at same time. I have pulled 5 or 6 V8 engines out of other cars, just not a 200 I6 from a 66 Mustang. I want to do this this weekend, could use some good tips before trial and error.

yes, drop the crossmember. I use the alternator bracket and the clutch pivot hole on the back part of the engine.

On my '78 motor there was a lifting bracket on the drivers side front of the block above the oil filter. There was another lifting bracket on the intake log above the starter.

I did this exact thing 3 weeks ago. Remove the trans crossmember. I used the alternator bracket in the front. For the back, I removed the lower bolt holding the tranny and engine together on the driver side. Here's a picture to give you a better idea.

I did mine using the bolt above the oil filter and one of the extra bell housing bolts. Dont use anything lower than those or it will be unstable (ask me how I know). Make sure you keep enough length of chain between the arm and leveler for the angle you are going to need but watch your maximum height clearance for the boom if you are inside. From the pictures you see how much angle you need to get this all out.

I got mine out but did damage a few things along the way so don't do it just like I did. I tried it with gaps in the chain but ran out of height so I though I was smart by hooking them lower. BAD idea. After I bent and dented a bunch of stuff on the way out the thing inverted itself and hit the ground while I was taking the transmission off.
