hot set for tappets

hey
just woundering what should i set the tappets to on a hot set for the old 250.
has a mild cam iam pretty sure hydrolic (anyway to check for certain with out pulling the head)
i was thinking about 10/15 inlet 15/20 exhaust

I may be ignorant or confused, but wouldn't the specs you list be for mechanical lifters? Hydraulics are set with no clearance and a bit of preload. I don't have the specs as far as how many turns to preload the hydraulic lifters in front of me.

Do Aussie 250 2v's have solid lifters and adjustable rockers?

Not normally! They had a standard shortblock and valvetrain.

well when i had the cover off it had adjustable rockers they werent rollers but could be adjusted.
so how do i check for hydrolic or soild's as i dont know what this engine has been built with and both are very possible.
with hydolic if i screw down on it then the lifter should calpase insead of the spring?
