Getting ready to put my head back on. The vehicle has been sitting for about a month and I'm concerned about the cylinder walls being dry. What is the best method and lubricant to use on the cylinder walls before I re-install the head?

Clean them with a soft cotton rag and just wipe them down with a very little bit of engine oil if it's going to sit much more :D

I use marvel mystery oil for stuff like that. just get an oil squirt can, fill it up and line the walls. Then manually turn the crank to spread it around. After you put the head on and are about to fire it up again, repeat by squirting oil through the spark plug holes. Manually rotate the crank (plugs out) and that will recoat the walls and help protect the engine during start up. You'll get a little smoke at start up, but it works well.

I always slobber 'em up real good with motor oil, then turn it over by hand a few full revolutions. Probably don't need near as much as I use but it makes such impressive startup smoke :D
