tri-power 250

I was reading about how Ohio George Montgomery tuned his Twin turbo Boss 429 "Mr. Gasket" Mustang engine as if it were 2 4 cylinders connected to a common crankshaft.
My question is, could a 250 with 2 carbs, 1 for the 1-3 cylinders and 1 for the 4-6 cylinders be tuned this same way.
Have the log divided into 2 sections, add the carburetors. Have a pair of headers, 1-3 and 4-6 much like the 300 ford headers. Add 2 oxygen sensors and a A/F meter. I don't know how to hookup the a/f gauge to separate the 2 banks but I'm sure Innovate Motorsports could help with that detail.
The idea would be tune the engine in halves. Has anyone tried this?
I wonder if an I-6 could hold 2 turbo's, tuned this way?
Just a thought.
