Installed a header, here are the pics:

Here are the pics I promised. I wouldn't recommend this one due to the subpar quality and the modification it took to install it on my '62 Falcon. It will might fit the later Mustangs better though:

I had to flatten #6 primary and massage the shock tower back a little bit. Then I had to remove the steering centerlink and the starter and load the header into the engine bay from underneath the car. Real pain in the rear end. Theres enough starter/battery clearance to intall the starter and battey cable without the header touching them, but I'm still worried about heat-soak. I'll probably try to find some way to insulate the starter and battery cable from the heat... maybe a header wrap? At least its not like those other engines where you have to worry about the headers burning the plug wires. :lol:

And I still have to bend the collector end out some because you can see where it hits the bracket for the idler arm in the last pic. :arg:

Sounds mean running on the open header though. :twisted:

8) nice job fitting them in. as with any engine, even when headers are supposedly designed to fit properly, you have to do some tweaking of the headers in many cases. years ago i installed headers on my 66 mustang. it was fortunate that i used small tube headers at the time as the clearances were quite close on some places.

as for a starter heat sheild, here you go;

as for the battery cable to the starter, dont worry about it unless it gives you problems. remember that electricity only flows through it when the starter solenoid is engaged, otherwise it is dead.
