I could uses some help. I recently reringed my 200 well it was apart the head went to the machine shop for TCL.I replaced the connecting rod bearings, cam, lifters, timing chain, push rods and upgraded to a Gm dizzy. After cam brakein I took a drive and got a loud tipping at 2500rpm (I thought it was a stuck lifter) so I went home and removed the valve cover didnt see any reason to show concern all the pushrods were Street and didn't feel any of the rockers terribly out of adjustment(I have non adjustable rockers). any suggestions on what this could be would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ok so I ran the engine again today after work noticed that the first three valves were not being oiled on the spring side and the noise still sounds like a lifter falling off the back of the cam. I still looking for help here. at idle there are no unusual or odd sounds it is only an RPM with no load I first noticed the noise in traffic maintaining speed.
thanks again for any suggestions

not well experienced here, just another observer offering what I can...

* when apart were you able to sight any oil passages to note cleanliness or ability of oil for free flowing?
* doesn't sound like the new rings adjusting to the old cylinder walls...
* is the timing chain wearing on anything from placing the gear incorrectly?

only the 1st seems like it could make the sound you briefly describe, any more description (on the sound) or info from further inspection?

Timing cover is not showing makers on the inside.I did move the push rods round which did quite the top. had a friend over will working who ask if I gauged the rod bearings. As he heard a lower sound. So this weekend I will be dropping the pan to check the rods.

I'm not sure if you should run it (wasn't there to listen/feel) but a stethoscope could assist. Place a wooden dowel, long screw driver, or actual tube @ an ear and around & about on upper and lower ends of motor. May B locate the noise better. Others here have warned against the danger of getting such an apparatus whacked by moving engine parts and causing personal damage so be very careful if trying.
