LOM - SCV?

Hello All,

I have done a few upgrades to my 170, the biggest being the new head and tri-power I just installed.
I was wondering what my options are for the distributor? I know of the DUI system, but right now its a little out of my price range.
Now that I have the tri-power and what seems to be the stock LOM distributor(with Pertronix upgrade) I know I'm not taking full advantage of the potential of my current set up.
So, I was wondering if there are any distributors with a 1/4 drive that are not LOM, besides the DUI?

If not, can you change the gear to a 1/4 if you had to?

My hunch is that the oil pump drive will be a 5/16 drive inseade of the 1/4 you need. You might contact them to see if they make an early type 1/4 drive unit. I am sure there will be Mallery duel points still around maybe even new ones

Easiest thing to do would be to get a 67-newer distributor, turn the end down below the gear to the right diameter (.495, I think), and replace the pump and shaft with the later, bigger stuff.
