Making progress...finally

I'm no expert, but after all you're having done, making sure the mains are true is added insurance. Heck, what's a few more bucks.

Gene,
Unless your machinist is a genius, I dont think that intake is going to work for you. It has too many holes.... :rolflmao: Looking good. I thought you had already rebuilt? I guess maybe you just did the head.

Ron

Here's the lowdown on the rebuild...stock crank ground .010, knife-edged and using arp main studs. Stock rods re-sized and fitted with arp rod bolts, excess flashing removed and shot peened. Block bored .040 over using 255 V-8 pistons. Camshaft is a Clay Smith 278 solid lifter variety from ClassicInlines( planning to set up 4 deg advanced ) using 1.6 adjustable stock type rockers. Still will be running the log head which has already been fitted with 1.75/1.50 valves, ported and modified for direct mount 2bbl carb. I will be trying both my 350 cfm Holley and a 500 cfm Holley to see which one performs best. I'm betting the 500cfm will be what I end up running. I'm hoping to be back to the track in November with it... :D

I wish I lived closer, I would be happy to loan out my Boring/Honing Plate.

Can't wait to see the result, Ric.
