Model 1940 carb ?

Hey, thanks for your response LaGrasta! I've got one of these that I believe was NOS. I'm kicking around the idea of mounting 2 of these on the log for kind of an "Old School" look.

Anyone else have an idea of the CFM rating on this carb or comments on that setup?

Thanks, Mike

I have several 1940's that I have been experiementing with on on 250.
I a not sure the CFM rating but they came with at least 2 different throttle bore diameters- 1 11/16 and 1 7/16th inch. I am using a manuual choke on a 1 11/16th inch diameter truck carb and the engine runs best with this carb. It seems to work better than my 1 7/16th one, better than my HW 5200, and better than my 1V 1101. I should add that I am a carb novice but I thought I'd add my experiecne.
Good luck!

Hi Mark, thanks for your response. My carb id the 1-11/16 size. the instruction sheet that came with it mentions Econoline vans, so I guess maybe it is a truck carb. I'm mostly just collecting parts right now for my build. I plan to put a 250 in my 1949 Ford. Just wanted something different, no "belly button" SBF or SBC. That's easy--everybody's got one! Besides that I've always wanted to build a hopped up six. I want the car to have kind of a custom or lead sled type look. I'd like to have multiple carbs on it to make it look more "period". Ok, now I'm just rambling! Anyway, thanks and BTW I checked out your website. Very nicely done! Cool site!
