I installed my MSD and duraspark today and I noticed that my lower rad hose is expanding like a baloon, is this in any way connected to the additions that I have made or is it something else?

also its an all stock motor now with MSD6AL & Duraspark

what should my timing be?
and what about my plug gaps?

the original dist. had a dual vaccum advance and the new one has single, so I should plug the one coming off the intake and use the one off the carb?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

I'm assuming also stock coil. If so, you're gap will need to stay close to stock of .032, maybe up to .040 or so. WIth a hotter coil, you can go to .050-.055.

I don't think your lower hose has anything to do with your mods...just getting old and needs to be replaced.

I agree with Slade, replace the hose. Soft hoses are getting ready to fail. The deterioration of your hose has nothing to do with the new equipment you installed. The noted swelling could be indirectly related if your timing is off and the engine is running hotter. The heat and higher pressure may have caused it to balloon today. But, the hose was still in poor shape to start with even it the scenario did occur.

The bottom radiator hose is subject to suction. Signs of swelling urge immediate investigation (double entendres aside).
