I have a 64.5 stang with a tired 170. What's involved as far as the swap to a 200? Will it use the same motor mounts? Will it bolt up to the trans? Any other concerns? Level of difficulty? thanks

Pretty much any 200 can replace your 170. Early or late 200s will match your bellhousing pattern. early (65 and earlier) have the same pattern as your 170, and later models have a dual pattern on them for later 6 bellhousings and early ones.

It's pretty much a direct swap from I've seen.

The only thing to be carefull about is the last of the 200s. '80/81-83 200s had an odd bellhousing pattern that won't bolt up to what you have.

I'd go with a '66 and later 200. It's a direct bolt in. The '66 and later will give you the option to run the larger flywheel / bell and give you better tranny options. Then, you could run a cable clutch and power booster.
