Oil and water temp gauges AND idiot light?

I'm installing an oil pressure gauge on a 200 straight six. I know it might be redundant, but can I buy an adapter that will give me another port so I could screw in my oil pressure sensor as well?
Seems that if the old sensor operates on pressure that it would pick up the pressure even if at a 90 degree angle from original.

I'd really like to have the idiot light for my water as well. I've got two choices that I"m aware of to install temp sensors on my 200. At the back of the head where the original is and in the front where the PVS valve is. (That medussa head looking thing). I've had the PVS valve non-functional for a couple of years now and could certainly use it. Question is which would be the better location for the idiot light and the temp gauge sensor. Not really sure which one to use since I'm going to use the temp reading to manually dial in my temp control for the electric fan I just installed. I realize the thermostat is located right there at the PVS valve but as I understand it, water won't be flowing through there until the thermostat opens. Since my temperature sensor for the electric fan is close to the inlet hose at the top of the radiator I'm guessing it would be most logical to install the gauge sensor up front? Wow---just made a long story longer didn't I?

You're right. Pressure doesn't know directions

Just install a brass "T" fitting in the port. Screw the gauge sender into one of the ports and the pressure switch into the other.

It's actually not a bad idea. If your pressure dropped, a gauge wouldn't get your attention as quickly as a red light.

Problem with the light is that it's already too far gone to do anything intelligent by the time it goes on. Use both. Cool.

i'm happy running both in both my rigs. in both rigs i installed the gages to diagnose problems the idiot light told me about. Tee'd it off like stu said, its 1/4" pipe thread. simple install.
but i recomend using a mechanical gage, not an electric, as the mechanical gives better readings.

Thanks for the replies, just wonder if the same would work for the temp sensing probe (or does it have to be in the head)?

the temp sensor must be in the FLOW of water, and as such each port is good for only one sensor. however, most applications have more than one place you could install a sensor. there should be at least one hole on the head, a couple on the block, sometimes one on the thermostat housing, and always the potential of building a fitting into a rad hose, just to get you started. most V engines also have at least a couple on the intake manifold

I agree, I think this is what I will do also.
That way you'll know exactly when (and if) the thermostat opens and get an instant reading.
