Thats what I consider mine to be.Is it "fast" in comparison to drag strip performance builds? No. Is it even "fast" the way that current production muscle cars are? No. But it is light and it is nimble and feels quick......much quicker than a stock Falcon should be. I built the 200 with 10.2:1 compression, tight quench, good port work,a nice cam properly degreed and a good carb and ignition setup. Coupled with a T5 trans and 2.79 gear in an 8" Mav rear end it is a blast on the street, cruises great on the road and returns 26-27 mpg daily and as high as 32 mpg on road trips. Some might say the 2.79 gear with the T5 is too tall......not for the torque I have. I built it to deliver its power between idle and 3500 rpm and that it does.
Could I drop in a 5.0 and kick some butt? Sure, but who couldn't do that? I can incinerate the tires in 1st gear and get a good 10 ft of rubber in second with the six and still wave as I pass the gas station......

a freind of mine has a 250......is it worth me buying for $100. i was thinking about it but i didnt know if it was worth buying becouse i already have a 200......... thanks

falcon60 ......i sent you a message. your car sounds like what i want to build maybe you can help me.........thanks

if you want a 3x1, but dont want to pay for a new one you can always make your own. search for my thread "what carbs should i use for a 3x1 intake", skip to page 2. also look at http://www.kastang.us/ theres some good stuff there.

do you want mpg's or do you want a fast 6. if you want good gas mileage you should probably use a 200. do a duraspark 2 conversion (look at sticky at the top of the page), get a t5 and make sure everything is tuned really well and dont use too big of carbs on your 3x1. you can find a set of used headers, but it may take a while. i got lucky and got a set of clifford dual out headers for cheap from a member here who changed from a 200 to a 250. the early transmissions are weak from what ive read(2.77), the 3.03 is supposed to be stronger. a t5 is not a direct bolt in, youll need an adapter plate and you need to shorten your drive shaft. everything you have asked is already on this forum if you just use the search you will find it, and it might cut down on the drama.

the straight 6 can sound good, search youtube for some clips or go to the eye candy section. i think most guys like 2"-2.25" dual exhaust with turbo mufflers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWuo3zOj_Cc i think this car sounds good.

If your sure you don't want a T5 a C4 is hard to kill, and it shouldn't be that hard to round up all the parts.

If it's definitely a 250, then it may be of interest. They take a little squeeze to get into the Falcon, but one benefit is compatibility with the V-8 Mustang drivetrain - bellhousings and trans just bolt up. All you need different is a zero balance flywheel.

I can't recall anyone here breaking a 3.03 trans.

Even the T-5, frequently described as "weak" in some quarters, usually seems to experience problems due to either neglect or use of a non-positive stop shifter. You can also get internal upgrade kits for them which make the trans almost bulletproof. A 200 six/T-5 built to be "brisk" on the street but thrifty on the road, should return well over 20MPG when done right.

Someone on the forum blew up a 9" rear with their six, but who? Don't remember, but it was funny.

The biggest thing about building a six, is not to gear it like an eight! Trying launches with a ratio around five to one, will not work. I think some of the more successful Australian hot sixes were running gear ratios in the high threes and low fours.

Cheers, Adam.

Hey Addo, I have broke the original rebuilt 3.03 w/ my six and just broke my axle at the hub on the 9". Reason for the Yukon axles and a NP435 tranny. It does seem kind of funny though. It won't too much longer and my Dana 44 front axle will need a little attention, too.

HIJACK OVER.

i think i found my intake.. i recived an email today about one for sale. i am still waiting for a replie but if its in good shape im taking it. i stilll need a header a cam and what else, i dont know. thanks

If you haven't decided on a header yet, check out the classicinlines.com stuff. Airflow is the biggest problem with these engines, so anything that helps out there will give you a noticeable improvement. Intake is kind of limited (2V or offy, or the new aluminum head), but headers are a easy way to start opening things up. Pair it with a DS2 and beefier carb, and you'll feel the difference. Plus the sound is pretty damn cool. Did you check out that youtube link earlier in this thread?

i am getting a 3 carb intake and plan on running 3 factory glass bowl holly carbs???? a header is the next thing i need, also am gonna put a port divider in it.. my speakers on my computer have been broke for months so i cant listin to the 6 banger clip........ i checked out classicinlines headers but i aint got that kinda cash. if anyone has a header they want to sell im lookin........thanks

save the cash on the intake and do what patrick66 did. then spend the money on the CI header. if money is an issue, don't mess with the divider.

i just love the look of the intake and a guy on this site offered me a new in the box one for 175.00 so i'm gonna take it. also i am looking for 2 glass bowl holly carbs. thanks

ive heard that the holleys are hard to get to run right on a 3x1. pm jahearne, hes using glass bowl holley 1904s. webers are supposed to be the easiest to tune and get it running right, im going to use webers when i get my engine broken in.

i aint realy worried about tunning the carbs.....my good buddy is a master carb tunner. he is gonna rebuild and tune the carbs.... is anyone lookin to sell there holly glass bowl carbs.. thanks
