Greetings Ford Six Fans,

Would anyone with a 250 installed in a Maverick please post a photo of their left and right motor mounts? Trying to figure out exactly what I'll have to do to get a 250 installed in my '62 Falcon Ranchero.

Thank you,

Thanks Gene! This seems to confirm that I'll need to fab up something to mount the 250 in my Falcon Ranchero.

The Maverick motor mounts are attached to a supporting structure coming off of the side of the engine compartment at about a 45 degree vertical angle. The corresponding supporting structure in my Ranchero is strictly horizontal. I think I'll need to fab up an approximately 45 degree (acute) angle bracket to mate the 250 Maverick engine mounts with the supporting structure in my Ranchero.

Thanks
Bob

I think I wanna use those towers/mounts for the 250 swap inta a bronk -

1 Q for Gene:
What's the black metal strap (it appears) going down from the bracket on the 1st pic?

and for BtB:
One or both "the Schjeldahl brothers" have the 250 in a 'chero. Could ask them/look in the "Falcon Performance Handbook"...

The Falcon Performance Handbook recommends using Maverick motor mounts to lower a 250 in a Falcon, since the 250 block is 1.66" taller and hood clearance may be an issue. So, I wanted to see how the Maverick mounts fit into a Maverick to help me decide how to use them in my Falcon Ranchero. As it turns out, the Ranchero has different motor mount supports compared to a Maverick.

I am gathering the parts to put a 250 & C4 in my 63 Fairlane (chassis is semular to a Falcon) but have not done a Mach up yet either. Not much info to offer at this point but it seems like it should be fairly easy to weld up some mounts that would lower the engine a little in the chassis, you will likely also need to drop the trans a little too so that the driveline angle is within spec. Best of luck on the swap

Hahaha...that's not a strap...that is the grey drip pan under the car...since the lighting isn't so good it looks black.

Thank you Gene. Looks like it comes directly from the mount/tower. I can't C in good light (but my other parts work fine, a'course!).

I have a part # for the '71 (& a few others) that looks like that.
I've posted in another thread ("help for Chad's..." something or the other). The drawbacks (need to use the 'puter @ wrk to look up ANY part) also has been a benefit (it showed other appps of this prt). Some Xs U loose, some Xs U (in this case) win...

:rolflmao: Hi Chad.Heres another one.
Sometimes you`re the dog.Sometimes you`re the fire plug. :rolflmao: :rolflmao:
