I have a 250 engine with an OZ 250 2V cast iron head. This is a new build. The short block is US and of course the head is Aussie. The engine has adjustable rocker arms. Camshaft is Clay Smith hydraulic. I got the camshaft, lifters, and pushrods from ClassicInlines.

Problem: When I try to install the pushrods and adjust the valves, the pushrods rub the outside of the pushrod hole in the head. I have tried shorter pushrods and it did not fix the problem.

I have never worked with the OZ 2V head. Is there anything dimensionally different about the OZ head that would cause this problem? Does the head require special diameter or special length pushrods other than stock 250 ball and cup pushrods?

Thanks in advance.

Any feedback is appreciated.

I have solved the problem. Getting old and can't see or hear. Once I adjusted the valves correctly, everything fit. Trying to do too many things at once!!!

car is 66 Mustang Coupe, 1976 Ford 250 out of Maverick, OZ 250 2V head, headers, clay smith cam, t5 5 speed. Just daily driver.

Thanks for the reply.

Which head/intake? XY?
What mods were done to the US motor to fit it? Any machinin or just those part changes listed?
Thanx,
