I've been considering this in part and wanted to get some thoughts and impressions.
First off, I have been considering a remote oil filter kit for my car. Being as it takes the almost standard FL1A, I figure it shouldn't be a big deal to find one. However here comes the tricky part.
I took a look at the external tranny cooler off of my parts car and that got me thinking. Would it be possible to mount an external filter kit with an cooler?
#1 Would it be possible?
#2 *IF* it would be possible, would the cooler go before or after the filter, or would it matter?
#3 Would there by any forseeable gains in oil life by adding either or both? I know it would increase oil volume, and provide the oil a chance to cool off by spending more time out of the block.
This idea is a work in progress, because I need to figure out if I can get a cooler that won't be a bottle neck.
I'm just curious and wondering if anyone here has ever done anything similar.
