Prime Fuel Line

Replaced fuel tank this weekend. Can't get gas to the engine. How do I prime the line? I don't really want a mouth full of gas. I was thinking of getting an electric pump to prime the line. Any suggestions.

unhook the pump end and use a blow gun to blow across the opening to siphone it out. or just crank it for a minute or so.
