I parked my '64 comet wagon in october, and went out to use it last week and it started fine. Than about a block away it started running rough and sputtering like a gas problem. I drove home. It wouldn't even idle by the time I got home. checked the fuel filter, it was good. Pulled the top of the carb off and checked the float. It was good. Fuel pump is pumping fine as when I loosened the line there was a heck of alot of pressure in it. Gas pissed off everywhere. Anyone with any ideas? It has 1/2 tank of gas. I went out this afternoon and it started fine. Choke holds it idling high. I tap the gas to kick the choke off and it won't idle. Anyone? Anyone?

How cold is it? Maybe water in the gas? Try some anti-freeze in the tank if so. Is the gas fresh?

Yup, that's what I'm thinking too. But I always check out the ignition first, especially on an older engine. If you don't have a good spark delivered in the right place at the right time, there is no use putting fuel to it.
