hey guys so im tired of the comet always heating up so i bought a brand new 2 role aluminum radiator with an electric fan never used aluminum radiators is there any thing i have to do or add when i install it or do i just put anti-freeze and thats it

Just make sure your engine-to-chassis or battery ground is in good shape, or you can get electrolysis issues. Apart from possible mods needed for the actual bolting-in, just add antifreeze and enjoy.

MAKE SURE to spray some pentrating fluid on the trans line fittings and let them sit for a while before removing it. Ive seen trans lines ends twist off too many times and ruin the whole line. I would get some PB blaster and put it on it for a day or so. Also be careful when you reinstall it, alot of radiators have brass trans cooler fittings, it will cross thread real easy.

8) you might want to measure the thickness of your new radiator vs your old one ot make sure you have fan clearance. it would be a shame to install the new alumnum rad and find out that the fan digs into the fins/tubes. i like the idea of spraying the trans cooler fittings, assuming you have an automatic, with pb blaster or other penetrating oil before you try to loosen the fittings.

you should also avoid over tightening the hose clamps and the fittings when buttoning up the new radiator to avoid issues in the future. i also agree with making sure you have good quality grounds, but you also need to flush the system more often, about twice a year is best, with the aluminum radiator also to avoid problems with electrolysis.
