250 in '61 project and engine room is tight. Pusher fan for cooling:

Alum. radiator is @ 1/2 " from water pump shaft. Is this going to be a problem?.

How much front to back movement can be expected typically?.

Thanks

Like Addo said, "...if the motor mounts are decent..."

Otherwise, one good engine torque and your fan blades can shread your radiator.

acceleration ain't the problem, it's stopping! i did the same swap, new motor mounts etc. was close but i thought i had enough clearance, was fine for two years until one day someone pulled out in front of me and i had to give the disc brakes a workout, the pulley bolts hit the rad, but did not cause a leak, it hit a time or two after that, i suppose the new motor mounts started to soften up a bit. i finally cut up the rad support and moved the rad forward 2" or so, got enough to run an engine driven fan, and as a bonus, it ran much cooler afterward.

PB-
I ran 1/4 inch from the water pump pulley bolts with no problems other than having great difficulty changing the fan belt- it did not fit btween the bolt heads on the pulley and the rad, and had to be "massaged" to squeeze between the two. Bent a few fins in the process but the WP pulley bolts never hit the rad.

Good Luck!
