I have been looking at remote start systems for a while and have a few basic questions that I hope some of you may be able to help answer. ( Please keep in mind the car I am referring to is a 65 Mustang with a 200 six and Duraspark Ignition, C-4 Auto tranny. ) Here they are:
1. I realize most remote starts indicate they are for vehicles with auto tranny and fuel injection. Could you not hook up a trunk release solenoid to your throttle to have it "pump" the gas once to prime the car, then hit the start button to have a non Fuel injected car start? ( My wife's Camry uses a solenoid that pulls on a length of cable to pop the trunk lock. I wondered if the same solenoid setup could be used. )
2. I have seen motorcycle remote start systems. Could one of these be used on a Mustang? (I am not sure if these are for specific bikes or not.)
Please let me know your thoughts regarding my questions or any suggestions each of you may have.
Thanks.
Kurt.
