i'm about to do my exhaust, it's definitly duals but not sure on any thing else.

i've got a header from clifford and want to know what mufflers and how they were routed sound good.
so if you guys could put up some sound clips and just say if it's 40 or 50 series flows or whatever it is you're using and how they're routed

i appreciate, thanks

but i don't want to sound ricy

not gonna happen.

you have far too many cubes in that engine. I was told by many fordsixers that they believe their exhaust note sounded "ricey", but to me, they didn´t.
lots of recordings of glasspack´d 200s I heard reminded me of 60s era British roadsters rather than a modded ricer.

then again, for me rice is defined by a mid-90s civic with a tailpipe so big it could be easily used for atomic power plant heat exchangers!

Dear CheeseBurger -
I'm not positive if you were talking about my stang, but I've got true duals with glasspacks and turndowns just before the rear axle. Here's a clip:

Sounds great to me everywhere but when climbing hills. It just starts to kinda drone on and buzz your ears. But I climb alot of hills and still love it, so its not a huge downside. Sounds real good on acceleration though.
Good luck in the search,
-Spence

spences66six,

you're the one i was talking about.
sounds great do you know how big your pipes are and what brand glasspack you're using.
If possible i'm going to duplicate what you have

Thanks

Hey Nathan,
I dont remember the brand of glasspacks, but they're about 1.5 feet long, and I've got 2 inch pipes. I wish I could go check the brand for ya, but I'm in SF, CA and the car's four hour's away in Fresno. I can check next time I'm home, but that could be a few weeks away, dont know what kinda timeline you're looking at. Anyway, I dont think mine are any thing special, think any quality glasspack would do the trick. -Spence

Berger,

I also have the Clifford Dual out headers. If you haven't modified them yet, send them back and talk to AZ Coupe about the FSP dual out headers. After about two years of driving, my headers are warped and need to be machined. The problem with that is the way Clifford welds their headers up, you can't mill them flat. AZ Coups headers can be milled.
I am running dual turbo mufflers and straight out the back tailpipes. It sounds great and doesn't sound at all like a ricer.
Ted

well i don't have the header yet. i'm the highest bidder on the one in the ebay finds.

does AZcoupe have long tube headers that aren't the pacemaker? I really don't have the money to get those and i really want the long tube

Spence,

it will probably be a couple weeks before i get all the things together so if you want to check, knock your self out

i just looked closer and the header i'm bidding on is not a clifford
does anyone know what brand this is and if it's good
please hurry the it only has 5 hours

Hey berger, that thing is up to $264 now, for like $10 more you could buy Mike's headers, NEW ! And of reputable quality....just a suggestion...

Alex

yeah but i want the long tubes and the only ones that mike offers is the pacemaker right?

right now i don't have the cash for the pacemakers.

so i'm just going to get these, and if i get outbid then i'll save a couple more paychecks.

yeah!!! it got that high within the last 30 seconds.
i can get a brand new one from clifford for $327, and that's with shipping

I'm tellin ya' Nate, stay clear of the Clifford headers. This is unless you don't mind replacing header gaskets every couple of weeks. I have been trying just about everything under the sun to get my to stay sealed for more than a couple of weeks at a time.
They keep blowing out at the 3/4 port. It could be that I need to do some better welding on the port divider, but still, AZ Coups products are far better than the competitions.

Ted

so you guy's are telling me that out of all the people that have 200's in this forum there is only 2 guys that have sound clips?

Heck no- you got at least one more :D
http://user.gru.net/gilmetyf/new6b.wav

take 1 stock inline six, 200 cid, one 78 exhaust manifold, stock single pipe leading to a $20 cherry bomb with a turndown in front of the rear axle.
I know at least one falcon owner has some clips of his too (i dont remember who or with what config though :? )
