Stalling out

This problem has me perplexed to say the least.......

66 bronco with 170, autolite 1100 and DUI centrifical advance distributer.

On occasion the truck will stall out most often after an extended highway drive when I come to a stop. I first thought this was related to a cooling issue that I have recentley resoved.

The carb I rebuilt back around this past November, checked fuel pump pressure, made sure all filters were clean. I've taken the carb off and inspected the bowl for trash and made sure the needle seats were clean and blew out all passages with carb cleaner and installed a new accelarator pump. Checked for vacume leaks and none found

Any ideas where to go next as this problem persists.

When you get off the highway, there's no airflow. Your engine will get (momentarily) really hot until the engine drops in temp.
This may be but is happening. Issue is similar to shutting off your car after a drive and it gets really hot after a few minutes of sitting.

8) you have the same problem that most of us have or had at one point, and that is fuel boil. you need either a carb with a larger fuel bowl, or a heat shield.
