hey just wondering what everyone thinks or what upgrade is proven to give the most horespower for the 200ci engine??

My current set up is two carbs, headers, roller rockers, better coil and a bigger head. My car's performance is awsome. It sounds bitchin too. If i was you, i would buy the ford falcon six cylinder performance handbook. It will give you tons of options on performance and it will anwser alot of questions to.

Is this a trick question, or what??????

The truth is there is no "one upgrade" that gives the best performance for a 200. It takes a coordinated, balanced package that includes intake, flow, compression, ignition, exhaust and cam timing in a good flowing head, power adders and a durable block that is balanced. It must all flow through a coordinated drive train with proper gearing, in a vehicle that is light, safe and solid, on tires that meet the needs of the package.

So, I guess the best upgrade for the most performance is a well thought out plan- that you can, realistically, afford.

Start by reading here, and then get to know what you have and go from there.

holly crap i looked at the nitromethanol just to see what it went for and well just for 5 GALLONS!! it is $225.50!!! thats a lot of money!!!

also i know the best way to achieve good horse power is to ballance everything out but the purpose of my question was to see what people thought/knew which item gave the largest horse power out of the ballance of upgrades... (or which upgrades you should do first for the intial power boost!) thank you

As David said, it requires a balanced system to get the mostest out of any given engine.

However, this question pops up often, folks ask what single upgrade will give the most bang for the buck. Assuming you have an engine in reasonably good condition, the one upgrade that will deliver the most power is a good camshaft. Not a carb, not an electronic ignition, definitely not a header, but just a lowly camshaft, which is, of course, the heart of the induction system.

If you are looking for more power and are truly on a tight budget, don't waste your money on expensive gadgets. Check out www.gofastforless.com for some pointers on doing it for cheap.

8) if you were talking about any engine with removable intakes, then the biggest power gains are going to be in the cylinder head. since you are dealing with the ford small six, you are forced to do system upgrades. that said however, if you replace the stock head with an aussie 250 2v head, you are forced to replace the intake as well, so you have upgraded two areas at once. you will still get your biggest gains with the cylinder head replacement. airflow through any engine is the key.
