Were all factory ratios the same? Is it 1.5? I was checking out Isky's cam specs in their online catalog and it states a 1.6 ratio, but I thought they were 1.5.

Yes ALL small block (144 to 250) stock rockers are commonly called 1.5. They are actually 1.52.

The 1.6 is considered a "hi-lift" ratio.

Are you asking about a big block (240-300)? Or are you reading about those cams... or are you reading about V/8's?

Good Luck

I found a couple isky cams for sale and I was doing some research on them at iskys site. The lift they quote is with a 1.6 rocker ratio, which is a little misleading, since the valve lift they state is not correct assuming a stock rocker ratio. I checked the lobe lift also, so the two I was looking at would be like .421 lift(at valve) for the 256 and .417 lift for the 262 instead of the stated .450 and. 445, respectively for a 1.5 ratio.

Yup,

You've got it figured. ALWAYS read the fine print, and always do the math yourself. You've now graduated to being able to deal with used car salesmen. BG

Good Job
