super sleeper

I've finnaly made the decision to park the falcon and begin its transformation. The reason i say sleeper is its a 68 falcon 4 dr (i know but cheap cars are just irresistable) 200 backed by a c4. I am on super low funds for now so i'm going to spend the time to blue print the block and set it up for a n/a application. So my first question is does anyone know where to get a setup to measure rod rod bolt stretch?

You can build one. I've done it before. Once you get one in your hands, you will say, "I could've built that". :D

i thought about making a 2 door clone but whats the sense the I6 is already looked as an underdog mine as well be in a grocery getter. The most i can see for the bolt stretch jig would take some pieces of my dial indicater and a piece with a point for the other side.

I've benn fighting what i want this engine to be in terms of setup for a while now. For this paticular build i'd like to stick with n/a and try to keep from blowing it up. I read about mustanggeezers setup but i'm trying to figure out if i can squeeze a little more compression and cool the engine with a hgih flow water pump or sorts. What do you guys think?

I think geezer was at 9.5/1 on the iron head.

9.5:1 compression is a great place to start. Add a good low end cam, do a bit of polishing around the valve pockets and mount a Ford or Holley 2 bbl carb on it. Ad a good set of headers and a 2" or 2.5" exhaust and you have performance from the six.
You mount the carb by milling a flat on the log head and mount one of the flat plate Rochester to Holley adapters to the flat and then mill the hole in the log to match the adapter. [/img]

Well i have a 68 head with the round intake so its not exactly the perfect setup for a 2 barrel, i'm going to try to find a square intake but if not i might just tri power.
