Hi all, just a suggestion to add. I was looking to see what kind of interest there would be for a technical document only section. Things like dyno charts, wiring harness diagrams, casting number charts, and just general specs based on model vehicle and motor. Google is alittle intensive of a search for just a quick question like dyno data. I feel that this section could eliminate many post asking over and over for the same information such as "what transmission is it based on casting numbers XYZ?", "what is the stroke of a 250?". This can also be useful for those wishing to modify their motors if guys could post modifications and numbers as far as horsepower and torque goes. I understand that with my limited knowledge of how to set-up, run, moderate a website like this, that this addition may be our of the question. I am just tossing this out as a useful addition to this already great knowledge based website.

i like the idea, you don't know how many times i've wanted to look up a specification that i couldn't find!

certain subjects already exist in teh FAQ and/or stickys.

the only potential concern i can think of with including wiring diagrams (and possibly even data) is that the book you copied it from is usually copyrighted, causing legal headaches to post an accumalation of their diagrams/data

based on what i've seen happen around here, i'm under the impression its not too hard to have a forum added, but i'm not an admin, or even a moderator, so i wouldn't know

I was thinking more of a basic how to section to help reduce the number of first time users asking the same questions. Although the best reply is usually to get the falcon handbook. Maybe two sets of stickies under each section with basic info and interchanges or something of that nature in one and the other with common modifications etc.?

The Classic Inlines website tech section already has a good bit of that info. It's hard to put all that info in one spot as our engines were used in a variety of diff vehicles, and trans missions. I come here and the CI parent site for my engine questions, but I have a early Bronco were as most members here run Mustangs, Mavericks etc. Wiring, transmissions, gear ratio's are probably better off to their specific forums. Links to specific subjects would be a better use of webspace, and could be added to by all members easily. And a lot easier than searching for your specific info needed. Maybe added to the "stickies"? A lot of that info is there already, but stickies are somehow mostly overlooked and should be used more.

Presently, it seems that Falcon Six info is much easier to find. One of the first things I did when I joined this board was to purchase the Falcon Six Performance Handbook at several member's recommendation. Even my Chilton's Econoline manual has lots of detail on Falcon Sixes, but is real lean on Ford Big Six info. So I believe that the info is already easy to find, though I'm not opposed to a dedicated section in the forum for it. I think if Classic Inlines ever wanted to remove themselves from selling the print version of the handbook, it would be nice to allow the handbook to be published electronically in the form suggested here. The Ford Big Six info would be more important as there doesn't seem to be a suitable manual for the 240 / 300 I6.

Some don't know about classic inlines yet when they first join or look around the forum. I sure didn't. I took the advice given to other people to pick up the bible(falcon handbook) and read through it. The huge issue is that there are a lot of variations in these engines. Like the few early engines with hydralic lifters etc. I just think there should be something like A FAQ's with basic how to's for people to get started in on the site. I would like some action to be taken to reduce the number of questions asked several times a month. just my two cents

I should have mentioned to you guys that i don't post under the small block section because I have a 300. I just threw this out for you guys to take a look at because i know i have seen several posts in that section asking for the same basic info each time. From what I am reading in the replies I see that you guys have a very extensive book called Falcon Six Performance Handbook. I was not aware of this when I made this posting.
