I have a 65 Mustang with a 200 inline 6 from a 66, it also has a 66 c4 3spd transmission. I just installed the hurst master shift into it about a month ago.
This morning i went outside to start it up and the shifter is stuck in 3rd gear.
The clutch is working properly, but the shifter refuses to release from 3rd. I figured at first it might be a linkage problem and will be checking that shortly, but i also heard that if it is a linkage problem there would be a little wobble in the shifter. Where as mine is firmly rooted in place and will not move. I have had issues with my Clutch fork in the past. And was wondering if this might be the issue. Any advice or opinions on where to go from here would be greatly appreciated.

Your post is a little confusing.

A C4 is an automatic therefore there is no clutch or clutch fork

Did you install a shift kit or a hurst shifter?

We can better help you with correct information.

Yes it is a confusing post??? A c 4 is an automaitc.. Now did you change it to a 3spd manule?? does the car move at all when you try to let the clutch out?? If not then maybe its stuck in two gears, that can happen if the linkages don't get adjusted right.. Just need to readjust them in the Nutral posistion..
