Matt, I am right behind you on the install. I am just waiting on the head to be returned and everything should swap right in. I have done everything that can be done without the head. And me too, I am very curious on how this bronco will run w/ the "Super 60". Let's go eat some V-8's, Yeah Buddy!

Matt,
Are you using a tock exhaust manifold and a "J" pipe?
Kinda what it looks like. Just wondering.
I love the painted block and natural finsh on the head. Looks awesome.
One more question what are you using for the carb mount?
It doesnt look like a Clifford piece or Stovebolt..

I'm a learn still. I was a bent 8 guy.

Nathan,
It is a Clifford carb adapter, it just has a gasket on top with 2 round holes. It is the stock manifold as well, off of a 69 250 I believe. Still have to get a carb cap, run a pipe to the carb and then address the fuel system, but its gettin there
Matt

Matt,
Thanks for the info.
Were you planning on running an intercooler?

I think I have found my 250 for my build up. Its either going to be a 74 or 76 250. guy I'm talking to has two.
I'm also planning on a Turbo'd I-6.
I'm still in the gathering info and finding an engine to start with.

Good luck and its looking sweet.
Nathan

Looking good!
That outta work real nice!
The fuel system is important so make sure it's "boost referenced" in some way.
Keep us posted!
Will

How much boost do you plan?
Stock wastegate diaphragm is probably around 8 psi.

Mechanical fuel pumps aren't made "like they used to be".
They are now using some kind of cheap plastic for the check valves. I was blowing a fuel pump every 4-5 times I hit max boost. I now have an electric pump set-up with an Aeromotive regulator and it works great.

What carb do you plan to use??

Looking good!!

If you can get a larger downpipe off of the turbo, that will add a BUNCH of HP...

Oh yeah, I have a brand new mechanical pump with the boost reference tube already added if you need one.

Looks Good.

I am hoping to get mine in soon.....but being a daily driver kinda slows things down a little.

I feel your pain!!!

And to add to it, my mig welder just crapped out on me :x

You really do need another car as a driver if you plan to build a turbo system yourself. It took me maybe a month of part time work to finish mine up.

Well, right now Im driving a 93 suburban. I lucked out and my parents bought a new one so I get to drive the old one while my stang is out. I have one more year of college left and then I plan on buying another car to serve as my daily. It will be nice to be able to work on the stang without any time constraints, lol
Matt

BTW Linc, did you get my PM about the fuel pump? Im gonna go to the shop here in a few minutes and talk to my mechanic, let me know how much you want and what kind of pump it is and we may be in business!
Matt

Does10 made a turbo exhaust manifold and 66Sprint6 is using a later model regular exhaust manifold. I'm assuming (all things equal) that Does10's turbo manifold will perform better. Right? If so, any thoughts on how much better (a little, some, a whole lot)?

Scott

thats nice... hey you want to trade? Ill even include the boxes of my engine parts! I need to get my finished... I got my cam in and now I need to take my head to the machine shop, and finish wet sanding....

I could pick up an easy 10-15 HP by changing from an iron manifold to a better, More free flowing piece.

In fact, I may be more inclined to ditch the exhaust manifold for something better before I ditch the 1 bbl!

Gravelrash, yes we are making a bracket for the turbo, altho it aint goin nowhere as is, it would be dumb to not brace it

The turbo header would work TONS better than my Jpipe, but Im keepin it simple and I plan on upgrading in the future. Header, bigger DP and intercooler are future plans :o) I like the fact that I can make HUGE power right now compared to usuall...and I still have room to improve!
