Hey guys I need to build a engine for my turbo EL with the tickford motor from what I have gathered this combo seems to be pretty common:

-ACL race series rebuild kit (the EA version)
-Balanced Crank
-Crack tested/Shotpeened stock rods
-ARP rod bolts
-Machining top of the piston to get compression down.
-AU head gasket

The head will be ported by a mate that works in the industry, i'll be getting harder valve springs, cam to suit turbo etc...

Is it worth getting it O-ringed?

What sort of power should a set up like this handle? According to my tuner I should be pushing close to 300rwkw later down the track I want even more, would the engine be fine with it if I keep the revs below around 5800rpm?

Any other suggestions?

Cheers guys, i've been reading the forums for a long time now, just regestered today.

Just one. A narrow angle rear vision mirror so you can see the cars 1320 feet behind. That's everything 10 to 11 seconds away in the dust!

Welcome aboard!

you wont be able to get arp bolts to suit the conrods just use brand new ba turbo bolts

Sounds good, what are the differences between the BA turbo bolts and the stockers?

Anyone got any other sugestions? So this setup should reliably handle 300-350rwkw? (if rev limited to around 5500-5800)

Cheers mate! 11's is the plan!

I realise this thread is quite old MikeHunt - just wondered how you got on with fitting turbo kit to your EL. I also have an EL and would like to do same. Based in Hamilton NZ.

Did you ever look at the kits that Brenden Mock has been developing in Melbourne?
