Two groove pulley??

Hi everyone.
I've decided it's time for power steering, but since my car has never had it, I'm not surehow to rig the belts. I presume I need a two-groove crank pulley, but where do I get one that will fit a 200?

The AC and PS pulleys are a bolt on to the front of the damper. Three bolts and it pops off.

There are a couple of different variations with different offsets. You'll have to dig around the junkyards.

In my experience (which is more limited than some on this board I'm sure) the two groove crank pulley is one piece. I have seen the bolt-on pulleys, but only bolted to two groove crank pulleys.

I have a spare balancer and two-groove pulley from a 1982 mustang if you are interested. I can also supply the power steering pump/brackets.

Linc, did you get my PM? I'm very interested in your pulleys.

Hey, funny thing, my engine does not appear to have a harmonic balancer, just a pulley. Is that normal? Also, MustangSix says "three bolts and it pops off", but this pulley on mine only has the single central crank bolt.

That is the balancer, and is normal. There will be three threaded holes on nthe front of the balancer to bolt the P/S pulley on.

I was looking at my PS bracket I have (off a 1980 or so 200) and the pump mounts on a cast AL bracket that then bolts to a steel one that is bolted though the timing cover. the rear has a bolt off the airpump bracket.

this is one of the reasons I was looking at the CNC mill and thinking of doing a full pulley kit. could have milled/drill an AL plate to bolt ont he front of the motor that held the PS pump with the proper offset.

Got it....but still nursing a torn calf muscle.
Also, my shop is 20 miles from my house.

Well, I went to the junkyard today and picked up two different styles of PS bracket and a bunch of pulleys. Strangely, the harmonic balancer on my car doesn't appear to have the correct bolt holes to mount the pulley to. I guess it's back to the junkyard with harmonic balancer puller...

Huh.

Mine is a 3 groove (when I bought the car, it had AC along with the Power Steering). Since the AC was broke, I removed all the parts, but that 3 groove pully has been there ever since.

I am assuming that mine was a 2 groove with a extra pully bolted on. At least, when I bought my new damper (yet to be installed) from Damper Doctor, I ordered a 2 groove assuming that is what I had...
