Two-Ring Pistons

Watching NASCAR on Fox and they just showed a very interesting piston. Ring on top, then a groove and then little inlets with another ring. They said all the NASCAR engines are using them in 2003, anyone think of the feasibility in a 240/300?

8) good idea for a race motor but a lousy idea for a street motor. piston stability is one issue, oil control is the other. remember the second ring does double duty in that it helps seal the compression in and the oil out. a race motor with the tolerances they are running balanced with the need for as much power as they can get means they can and will push the limits as far as they can. while the oil control issue is not important in the first 1000 or so miles it does become an issue very quickly after that.
