The more I mess with the car the more that I find. The vacuum advance isn't connected and someone has plugged the port on the carb plate. Also the little screw adaptor for the vacuum line is missing. How will this affect the driving of the car? If this must be reconnected does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this without buying another carb plate as I am betting the threads are no longer correct?

HI REX
Boy, makes ya want to say HMMMM..
Is the port on the dizzy OK.. If so just buy a nipple for it.. as for the carb part if it is in the base of the carb plate or the manifold you maybe able to just pull the carb, put a rag inside of the manifold and drill it out and re-tap it.. on my 170 its in the top of the carb its self and that would mean (most likely) a new carb for me. OH as for the way it well run it well most likely be a little slugish on exceleration with out the vacuum advance working.
hope this helps.
