Vacuum Source for Auto Trans Modulator

On my 69 200, the vacuum line to the tranny modulator threads into the intake manifold below the carb base. On my 78 200 that I am rebuilding, there is a large port that the prior owner blocked off with a metal plate. There is another threaded port on the intake manifold on the top surface of the intake manifold at the very front of the manifold.
Questions:
1. Can I run the vacuum line from the front port?
2. Or should I drill and tap the metal plate and run the vacuum from right below the carb?
3. Should I "T" the vacuum off another vacuum port such as the carb base plate with the PCV valve?
Thanks!

Whatever..............................
Really as long as you give the transmission a good vacumn signal it doesn't mater where from   It's can share the vacumn thru a "T" or where ever you hook it up to!
