Weber Carb Problem

I got a 32/36 weber carb from clifford performance and it wont idle. I gas it twice before i crank it and it starts but then shuts off almost immediately. Would the lack of a pressure regulator cause something like this? I removed it to put back the 1100 and when i took it off a a squirt of gas came out of the fuel inlet and a little after a bunch of gas came out from under through the hole. What would be the issue? Would it be a vacuum problem? Any help would be great. Thanks Guys

Install a regulator. Webers like about 3lb pressure and not much more. Will it run if you feather the throttle? Is the idle screw too far out causing the engine to die? How long will it run before it quits? Are you certain the carb was bench tested and was set to be close? If not, I'd screw in the throttle (idle speed) screw in maybe 1 turn and try it, then maybe 1 more if needed. Once it starts and runs, then you'll have to set the idle and mixture.

It was tested and ran on the 250 that it was removed from. It ignites and almost immediately shuts off, about 1 second later. The idle screw is screwed in about two turns and the former owner said it idled and cranked fine without an issue whatsoever.

Not being familiar with your carb, but a wild thought. Does it have an electric idle solenoid like the webers over here fitted to xe/xf falcons??

How can i tell if it has this solenoid? All i know is that it has an electric choke, the choke cable isn't connected but the choke is closed by me when my brother cranks it. Could it be the fact that the carb hasnt ran in about a month or more? Would i have to keep gassing it until it starts?

Does it have a vacuum leak? do you have the pcv hooked up? you definitely need the regulator. Have you verified the float level? if not check out cliffs website for the info. Last but not least try calling clifford . Good luck.

Would a vacuum leak cause something like this? The pcv is definately hooked up and everything is setup to the best of my knowledge. Then again i look down the carb and and when i press the pedal it doesnt inject. I thought that was a good way to check the carbs injection.

I was told to disconnect my pcv and put a breather in its place. That would require that you plug the pcv port on the adapter. It kinda sounds like you need a new accelerator pump. That would give you the squirt of fuel you speak of. I will check mine and see if it squirts any fuel. I know mine is workin ok took her for a spin last nite.

That is what I was told to do. Webers dont like ANY vacuum leaks.

This isnt looking too good for me. I should have just gone with the clifford adapter in the first place.
I think i have vacuum leaks and they're messing with everything. I havent tried removing pvc hose though, so that might help.
