Finally finished installing the T5. Big vibration problems. In neutral and with the clutch depressed, I hit the gas and a very strong vibration shakes the whole car. This makes me think either the flywheel or the pressure plate out of balance. Now the pressure plate is brand new RAM unit. The flywheel I had resurfaced but never thought of checking if it was in balance.
The flywheel I have is a 9 inch flat face. Bolted it according to specs. Used locktite on the bolts.
I remember reading somewhere about 6 cyl and 8 cyl flywheels having to perform different balancing functions because of the natural harmonics of the engine.
so...
#1 Does anybody have any ideas as to the source of the vibration?
#2 Where can I get a brand new 9 inch flywheel with guaranteed balancing?
Besides the shaking, the car has an amazing performance and the clutch mechanism works good.
