what can I do with my ignition?

Hi guys,

I have an EB falcon 4 litre OHC engine and I am going to turbo it soon.
I will most likely use gas research LPG gear.
One thing I am stuck on is how do I control the ignition of the car.
Does anyone know of any good ignition only computers than would be successful? Will I even need an aftermarket ignition setup?

Haltech used to make an ignition only computer; IG5.
Unfortunately, they have not made it for about 12 months. It sold for about $500.
It is half of an E6 engine management computer. Unfortunately, I don't know of any others. I know that an E6 is about $900. What about using a Holden commodore unit that uses an adjustable (aftermarket) memcal unit.

I dont know about the holden unit you are refferring too. Do you have any more details?

My best bet may be to keep scouring the trader and ebay for a second hand unit.

i havnt used one yet but if youre going straight gas, j-car sell progamable ignition kits for electrionic igniton it lets u set the advance curve and all costs about 80 bucks i think ...
sounds cheap i know but worth a look

Another guy has used the jaycar kit on his lpg turbo EA and said they are not up to the task.

I had my 250 xflow done by COME racing last year, Ill give them a call and see what they say.

Yeah i think im the guy . im building( still) ea6 lpg turbo

yeah im putting together the jaycar kit. about 140$ with HEI.

Jaycar the dickheads, no longer sell the hall efeect sensor needed for the thing to work on ea dist. but i'm usingthe one in the dist already.

it would work good if i could work out the bloody wiring.. will soon.

if your electricaly minded check out the megasquirt comp can be programmed as ignition only and would have plenty of outpuuts left, you could use it for multi coil and its fully programable. less than 400 bucks.

if i could only finish build 1 , build 2 looks awesome...
