Hi My Engine has been sitting idle for some time now, It has been manually turned it over but are there any other preventative measures I can take to keep it in good order? It has no wiring at the moment so get it to start over is not in the equation.

Thanks

Try getting some Mystery Marvel Oil, squirt some in the cylinders through the plug holes, and put some on the valvetrain. Rotate a few times by hand to get a nice good coat, and that will help you during your next restart.

I have heard stories of guys dumping atuomatic tranny fluid straight down the carb and filling the oil pan up too. But this may only be practical over a long storage for many years.

Go down to any boat dealer and pick up some storage fogging oil. Plug each one of the spark plugs and give a squirt down each cylinder. Crank it over a few times to coat the cylinders. Fogging oil pretty much stays put on the cylinders. Also make sure you have fresh engine oil and filter. Fuel conditioner in the gas tank or no fuel at all. Also be sure to have fresh anti freeze mix in the cooling system. If you do all this a engine can sit for years.
