I was just wondering whatever happened to the turbo manifold does 10's was working on. Did it ever go into prouction or is it on a made to order deal, or was the idea just scrapped?

I hope this doesnt somehow undermine AzCoupe's position as proprietor of FSPP. A while ago I asked a similar question and he PM'd me the following

Does10 has made five or six setups for other members (I lost count). Each time he refines his design just a tad bit and has just about worked out the little bugs. Once that's done, I plan to take one to my header manufacture and have fifty units produced (there minimum run).
I would recommend contacting Az about getting one (PM or email).

dstud2000,
Yes I've been making a few headers/downpipes for a couple of FSPP customers. They were all on a one by one basis.
The lastest one is up in Phoenix being Jet-Hot coated as I type and it will be displayed at the SEMA show Nov 2-5 in Las Vegas. This header is considered the "golden" header. Meaning it will be the one that will be duplicated and mass produced.
It will fit all "early" vehicles with a 144,170,200 or 250. High or low mount starter and log or OZ head. I personally haven't tried to fit it on a Fox body car yet. But we'll try and see if it'll fit.
I'm sure Mike (AZCoupe) or myself will be posting some pics of the setup soon or at least after the SEMA show.
Mike's building a killer display motor and "booth" so if you're in the Vegas area and can get tickets stop by....and bring beer!

BTW Kelly ran a 12.39@110 in Tucson last Friday night. Density altitude was around 4200ft. Our track here is at 3075ft. We can't wait to get back to Phoenix with a 1700ft track elevation!

Will

Will, thanks for the info., I really appreciate it. I guess I have been a bit eager to hear an update. Thats great news about Kelly's time. I wish I could make it to Vegas, but my hobbies have me stretched a little thin on a students budget :( . Well thanks again for the update!!! Hopefully once I'm finished with school I can make it out there and bring some beer along.

I can't imagine you having any problems. There is a whole lot more room under the hood of a Fox than the earlier cars.

Do all the headers use a T-3 turbine inlet flange like your car?

Linc's,
Our turbo is a T04, 57mm. The new header/downpipe are the same.
I agree that there is a lot more room in the Fox's then the old cars. My '86 GT has plenty of room, even with the 5.0 in it!

That will limit customer's choices and force them to stay with the T04 family of turbos. That isn't a bad thing, but I think a lot of folks want to be able to use T-3's.

Make an adapter for it, that is how we all got here in the first place, ain't it?

Lay a T-3 gasket on top of a T-4 gasket and look for yourself.
It would be very difficult to do.

i haven't ran a turbo myself (though i have though much about it) and I have to agree with Link, T3's and T3/T4's from SVO and TC's are prolly the most common turbos used (or if not a true Garret, then they use that mounting). Yes you could weld on a new flange, but that would be difficult for many. (I have a brother in law that used to be a proffesional welder, no big here) just my opinion. though not knocking you for all the work you have done, I think that is a great thing to have available.

There are so many turbo variants it would be very hard to make different headers for all of them.

However, The reason for my asking is there are many more T-3 turbos available that are in the approximate size range for a 200-250 size engine.

There are also many T4's, but most of these are too large for a mild combo.

Sorry for the delay in repling, just to darn busy.

Once the SEMA show is over, I'll be taking the prototype to the header shop so they can start work on them. Should take about eight to ten weeks to get them done. The biggest problem is having to pay for fifty sets up front, since my cash flow is so tight right now. All of my funds are being consumed by the valve covers and new aluminum heads. And that stuff isn't cheap. I'm trying to save up enough to get the headers done right away, but it may take a bit longer. Sorry.

Maybe we should do a poll for which one would be more popular, the T4 or the T3? Or maybe I can do both, if the shop will let me split the minimum quantity (50/50).

I thought someone made a plate for mounting a T3 on a T4 manifold?

I have never seen one, and I don't think it is possible, because the bolts are so close together they would interfere with each other.
