Whereis EDIS on AU?

I've snaffled the wheel and pickup from an AU, but I can't seem to locate where the actual EDIS6 is? Is is seperate module like offshore cars or is it built into the coil pak base?

I think you are talking about the encoder wheel behind the harmonic balancer and the 3 coil pack on the AU six, if you are then the coils each connect to two plugs and are driven by the ECU. the coils operate on wasted spark so only 3 are needed. there is also a phase sensor on the jack shaft for camshaft position.
Theres no EDIS6 as you call it on the coil pack itself.

OK so the EDIS module is redundant because the ECU handles that task? I don't feel so bad now, because I looked all over the engine bay for it and had come to the conclusion someone had already grabbed it.

I ended up getting the coil pak too and noticed it was just that, unlike the Holden ones with the DFI embedded.

EF & all AU 6cyl models use 'EDIS6' but unlike the US models everything (including driving the coils) is done by the main ecu. You can use an 'Australian' coil pack, VR sensor, trigger wheel, etc. with the ecu but you need an 'EDIS6' module off a US Ford, such as an Exploder. I have done it on my crossflow 6 (with Megasquirt) so I know it works well. Much better than a dissy!
