which engine am i looking at

i just picked up whats left of a g_d only knows what year bronco it has a SB ford six is there any way of telling which engine im looking at with out checking bore/stroke i think this things mid late 60s

Ford put 200's in them in the 60's. Does it have the log head?

yea its got the log head like the 200" just dont know if its a 170" or 200" i "think" (which means i have no idea) they have the same cyl head

if it is a 170" would it have 4 main bearings like the 144" or 7 mains like the 200"

It would have four mains. Also, the 200 has five freeze plugs on the block under the exhaust manifold. 170s have three.

is the 4 main set up ok i know the slants only have 4 and there strong as heck

would any know if you can interchange the flywheels between the 170" and 200"

The 170 had 4 mains until 1966, whichis the first year it changed over to 7 mains. The 200 changed over to 7 in 1965. Check the link:
