Which radiator for my '64 Comet?

The radiator in my Comet is in sad shape so I'll be looking for a new one fairly soon. Should I go with a stock one, Mustang, aftermarket aluminum? Anyone have a brand or type they'd like to recommend? I have very little clearance between the radiator and the stock four blade fan, so I'm not sure what will fit. Anyone using a fan shroud or and aftermarket fan, if so which one? I'm in Florida so cooling is key.

Thanks!

I used a three core stock replacement in the falcon(original was a 2 core)and had to use an electric pusher fan to
make it work . I did'nt have enough clearence with the 3 core and 2 groove balancer to run the stock fan.I have heard good things about the 2 core aluminum radiators. you can find them on ebay pretty reasonable.

Thanks for the info. I was considering one of the aluminum 2 cores from Ebay but wasn't sure which sellers and products were good. Anyone have a good experience with a seller or radiator they want to share?

+1 I'd probably go with the cheapest. Most all the aftermarket radiators sold on ebay are made by Silla or Champion it seems. IIRC the Champion my have more of a solid upper tank (less welds). I went with the Silla and am very happy with it.
I searched ebay for some previously using the string "Ford L6" and found some 2 rows for about $150 all in (incl. s&h). I used the seller: radiatordealz but noticed their feedback is not as good as it was previously. Most all the middlemen on ebay are selling one of the two brands and usually they're going to be drop shipped and chinese made, so you might want to balance the least cost with best feedback. One other tidbit, I seem to recall a concern for the Silla and being able to fill it all the way up...because there is a slight dip down in the upper tank where the fill neck meets the tank. However, I've not had any issues with this, and as long as the seat in the neck for the rad cap seal is above the top of the tank (which it is on mine) there is no problem filling the tank to capacity. Add a recovery tank, and you're good to go. It's night & day difference over my old rad, with 195* stat in the Texas summers. Can't tell you much on your comet fitment though, here is mine. Othewise you might search the forum with "aluminum radiator" for more feedback.

Good luck!
