Will this work

Well i was at my fathers today and was perusing his junkyard (quite a few interesting things, 3 fully assembled great condition ford 9 inch rear ends, 390s, a 240 big block, even some torque thrusts). Basically though he has a plymouth voyager turbo, which i checked because i was like hmmm, i wonder. Sure enough, it has its turbo in there, so i asked my dad what was wrong with it, and it was the engine had a bent rod or something *shrug*. Basically though i was wondering if i could use the turbo charger from that to turbo my 200. Its most likely just a small turbo (i have to take it off the car still, didnt have the tools at the time), but i figure any boost would be cool.

My question though is if it will work, and if so, how easy is it to modify the exhaust manifold to accept it. Also could i use it with a header? Just wondering cause i wanted a duel exhaust. I am most likely going to be sticking with the stock 200 carb, is that possible to turbo charge with it? What stuff would i need (i know i have to upgrade my rearend and tranny first, but it would be good to know what i'm getting into)?

1) it's really too small....even for the engine it came on. Read the sticky at the top of the forum.

2) depends on your welding skills

3) Depends on the carb. Read the sticky at the top of the forum

well i figure between me, my dad, and my buddy the welding wouldnt be too bad. I'm not really looking for some insane amount of boost or anything, I just figure that a small boost in power could make the 200 quite nice, without me having to worry about building the engine specifically for turboing.

Just a question but do you know of any sites that have the specific information on that turbo they used on em?

2.2 mitsu turbo's ( what that turbo is, should say mitshubishi and have a chrysler triangle stamp on it ) are cheap and plentiful. yes it will be too small and yes it will run out of steam @ 4k RPM but so does the 200 engine in stock form, no need for any porting, or a bigger carb, because the turbo will be a bottle neck for flow. they use stock mitsu 2.2 turbo's on Mopar / 6's and hack up the 2.2's exhaust manifold and graft them onto the / 6 manifolds, and they work quite well.

Well when you put it that way it sounds like a good plan, simply cause i have a stock build, that i'm not planning on going crazy with. I guess once i gather all the parts togethor (and it could be a long time *shrug*), then i can wonder about hacking up this stuff to work.
