AU NZ XT 221 carb swap?

Hi all,

This would have been discussed so I’m sorry to bring it up again.
I have an XT that has been in the family since new so I am trying to keep it as original as possible.
The question:
Is there any carb upgrade or swap that uses the original linkages?
I see the Stromberg’s has different Venturi sizes, does a couple of 32’s” make any difference?
Is the only choice the Holley Sniper?

Not a lot can be done unless your willing to do something with the head itself. Stick with a Berg, there OK for a stocker. The small difference in throat sizes makes a minimal difference, 1/32 or less than a mm, is nothing. 3mm maybe noticable.

For a stocker, NO, even extractors are of limited value. The Aussiespeed cast iron two out manifold might help a bit, but you would barely notice it on the road.

Thanks for the info.
I’m pulling out the 250 that is in it now, might do something with intake on it and keep the stock head original.
