yep iam rebuild an engine from all my old race bits that i have blown up sorta.
decided to take the corty for a run about 2 weeks back cut long story short it used a lot of water help pressure and dident blow bubbles but a bit of steam out the exhaust.
so plan A
use pistons and rods from 2 suposed identicle engine pick the best block from the 2 rehone the bore and wolla..... wrong.
my suposed identicle engine's turned out not to be one was 20 (the block i used) and one was 30 so i have 4 30 up race series pistons and 5 20.
so procastinated on just geting 1 pistons etc.
but decided fuge it new pistons and bore the sucker.
so plan B
bore the block 40 up fit new pistons.
so drop the block and old pistons and rods off midday monday head back to mates workshop and begin on the head which had been machined about 15 thou to clean up.
so regrind the valves and seats linsh the crank.
tuesdays lap the valves in checking contact etc all good oil up the guides fit the guide seals springs ratainers collets etc.
pull down clean the carby set up the dizzy clean and paint the sump/rocker cover linish called it day as it was 6 and bloody cold.
wednesday press and then file the carby flat put rebuild kit through it clean anything else i see bug machine shop for my block and pistons
change the booster and bonnet release cable on the corty bug machine shop again watch half a movie pick up block + rods pistons rings.
thursday bolt it all together and start fitting in corty
friday get running run the sucker in
points iam not happy with is they got low comp pistons so ill have to redo the head later on to boost the comp up or bolt some boost on it.
undecided as yet
