My factory air conditioning doesn't blow cold. I'm looking for guidance on the best way for me to approach this repair.
Thanks.

an A/C specalist will put dye in, gauges, etc.
If U charge it up urself U may get some info.

Some start over w/"classic air" an after mrkt co that replaces every component…but
I bet my suggestion has cost savings merit.

Its a GM FridgidAire F6 unit, so any GM air con specialist. Jaguar used it too. Neat system, Ford outsourced to gain space for the air pump relocation on L code 250 sixes fron 75 to 79, and for the last years C code 4.1.

Common, reliable, but very heavy, you souldn't have any problems getting it "back to life".

AC units of that era used R12 refrigerant, very expensive. You may not find anyone who will work on it if you want to keep R12.

You may want to consider switching over to R134A, or one of the newer replacements if possible for your unit.
Purchase an upgrade kit yourself, or from the specialist you take it to.
