4l ef/el with doch head

hey
out of curosity is it possible to put the ba head on el block or put the el sump and pick up etc on the ba block as this whould make say cortina conversions a lot easyer?

THe BA has the oil pump mounted in the timing cover.. so ef/el pick ups/ sumps prob wont fit to good. But i couldnt seing the el sump being to hard to make fit.. THe BA head WILL not fit on the sohc block...
Bell housing is the same ea-BA... give or take a few minor bolts...
Best best option would be modding a EL sump with cortina REar sump fitted to it modding the pick up on the BA to fit... THen just hope it clears the bonnet

cool i was jsut curiose as i dont have the dollars to do it.
and when i thought about it since they have not really changed the block for 10 years you might of been able to wack a el sump on modded to corty shape making the fit a lot easyer for anyone trying it.

Dont the bolts for the mains go through the side of the alloy BA sump

YES they do but there not realy a structal part of the mains.. manily for nvh id think..
